The conference took place within the same called events, which at that time were organized at the University. The idea belongs to Dr. Mychailo Dymyd, direct and active participant in the events of the Revolution of Dignity. The conference was held thanks to the joint work of Philosophy and Theology Faculty, Institute of Ecumenical Studies and Pastoral Theology Department of UCU.

The main topics for discussion at the conference were:

     Human’s response to the call of God through the Maidan;

     In the spiritual dimension the Maidan has been just beginning;

     The analysis of the positive and negative aspects of the Maidan for the sake of building a future.

The conference began with a liturgy served in a landmark location – in the chapel, located on the Avenue of Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

Three key speakers read their reports during the morning session. The theme of the report of Dr. Mychailo Cherenkov was "Theology after the Maidan: understand, change, imagine."  The main thesis of the report: Christian humanist revolution took place on the Maidan, Christian civil society was realized. Therefore, Ukrainian Churches have a big task - to reveal meanings of the Maidan. Whereas "if not yet disclosed crimes against the Maidan - it is the responsibility of the GPU, then undisclosed meanings of the Maidan - is the responsibility of Churches (their theologians) ..." – is stated in the report of Dr. Mychailo Cherenkov.

Father Petro Zhyk shared his thoughts based on his experience of serving in a tent church on the Maidan. According to him, Maidan and the tent Church, in particular, during the events of the Revolution of Dignity became a place of a unity of Christians, which erased religious, canonical distinctions, where Christians united for a common service to society through participation in events on the Maidan. And wooden chapel, which was later built on the Avenue of Heavenly Hundred Heroes, based on the experience of unity on the Maidan, was conceived as an ecumenical, where various Ukrainian confessions could serve. However, later events show that the momentum of unity after the events of Maidan had quickly extinguished. A thousand years of separation gave its results, and Christians returned to their usual "comfort zone", i.e. to the division between them.

Rev. Dr. Mychailo Dymyd spoke about "The virus of love on the Maidan." The main motive of the Fr. Mychailo’s report: the experience of love that we have received on the Maidan should be for us a seed, which should grow in all our lives and we should distribute it either. However, with this spreading "the virus of love", we should not expect immediate results, but work for the long term perspective.
