Official delegation of the Catholic Church visited Ecumenical Patriarchate

The pontifical delegation led by Cardinal Kurt Koch, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, and its members, Bishop Brian Farrell, secretary, and Fr. Andrea Palmieri, undersecretary, were received on Sunday by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

The meeting, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, was also attended by Archim. Agathangelos Siskos, archivist of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and secretary of the Synodal Committee for the Dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church.

The delegation took part in the Divine Liturgy headed by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, accompanied by a delegation of the Orthodox Church of Finland, at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Saint Georgios the Phanar. The Divine Liturgy was also attended by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, accompanied by members of his cabinet. The Ecumenical Patriarch announced that he would pay an official visit to Ukraine on the Independence Day of Ukraine next August, responding to the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
