The Institute of Ecumenical Studies co-organized the project "Philanthropist of the Year"

On March 21 an awards ceremony was held for the winners of the Lviv regional contest "Philanthropist of the Year – Lviv Region 2011", was held within the fifth National contest "Philanthropist of the Year".

The Oselia public organization received a victory in the category "Charitable non profit organization". Peter Pysarchuk became a Philanthropist of the Year. And the SoftServe Company won the championship among charitable enterprises.

The special social Lviv prizes were offered to: the Pliazh water park as a socially oriented company and the Auction of Nadyy which is a project aimed at creating a socio-rehabilitation center for blind.

Proposed participants` initiatives were assessed by 15-member jury, including: the media, government and civic organizations.

Executive director of the IES Halyna Bokhonko noticed: "Ukraine is the 105th in the ranking of charity, but thanks to these people who are here, we will fall into the top twenty".

The Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Ukrainian Catholic University co-organized this contest.
