Educators, government representatives, clergy, and foreign guests participated in the conference. The conference was opened by Mykhaylo Brehin, head of the Department of Education and Sciences at the Lviv Regional State Administration. The conference reports concerned various aspects of teaching the subject. Thus, the director of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies, Antoine Arjakovsky, defined the ecumenical approach to teaching the subject and preparing educational materials.He also presented a textbook for 2nd grade students of secondary schools on the subject “Christian ethics” (author H. Dobosh), which was prepared and published thanks to the support of the IES and the missionary aid organization Kerk in Actie (Netherlands). This is the first textbook of the series of educational literature on Christian ethics for seven-year-old children.

Heleen Zordrager, pastor, advisor on European issues at the Department of Protestant Church Mission in the Netherlands, presented an approach to teaching Christian ethics in Europe; she also compared methods of teaching the subject in Ukraine and the Netherlands. Representatives of church structures of various denominations took the floor at the conference. Halyna Sokhan (pictured), candidate of philology, docent of the Department of Social and Cultural Education at the Lviv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Education, and an author of textbooks on this subject for the 5th and 6th grades, described the overall state of current teaching of Christian ethics in schools. There were also teachers of Christian ethics from Kyiv, the Transcarpathia region, and Volyn.
