The Institute of Ecumenical Studies participated in the international conference “The Bible and science: Creating a bridge between education and the Church” in Zvenigorodka

The conference was attended by representatives of Eastern Europe (Russia, Ukraine, Serbia and Romania). The Institute of Ecumenical Studies was presented by the coordinator for the Distance Master's Program in Ecumenical Studies at the IES/UCU, Fr. Roman Fihas. Mykhaylo Seleznev opened the conference with the report “The Bible and science: Synthesis and challenge,” which outlined the thematic direction of the conference. An honored guest of the conference was Klaas Shpronk, a professor of Biblical Studies from the Netherlands.

On Saturday 19 September 2010, a consultation of the 2nd subgroup “Development of ecumenical leadership in mission” was conducted, which was a logical continuation of a conference in Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria).
