Recently, an Italian translation of the book Josyph Slipyi. Memoirs was presented in Rome, Italy (Josyf Slipyj, Memorie – A cura di Iwan Dacko, Alberto Di Chio, Luciana Mirri – Roma – Leopoli 2018).

On the occasion of this event, the President of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Father Iwan Dacko, presented to the Archbishop of Constantinople-New Rome, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew a copy of the edition. On December 15, 2018, the Father-Doctor received the letter of thanks from his Holiness:

To the esteemed Msgr. Prof. Dr. Iwan Dacko, President of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies, our beloved in the Lord: Grace be unto you and peace from God.

Having returned to our Venerable and Sacred Center here in the historic See of Constantinople, we communicate with you in order to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the recently published memoirs of Josyf Slipyj that you graciously gifted us. When we reflect on our visit to the monastery of Bose, we will always remember this thoughtful gesture of yours—a sincere token of the respect that you hold for our person. May you enjoy a most blessed Christmas season filled with every good and perfect gift from above, and may the Lord's nativity be for you a personal source of spiritual rejuvenation.

At the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the 15th of December, 2018

Prayerfully yours,
