Kilometer-Long Line Forms to Venerate St. John the Baptist 's Relic in Kyiv

The right hand of St. John the Baptist on the evening of 12 July 2006 was brought to Kyiv to be venerated at the Kyivan Monastery of the Caves. On 14 July the faithful started forming a line in front of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross at 3 a.m. and by 10 a.m. the line stretched for almost a kilometer. Read more...


Lviv to Renovate Armenian Cathedral for City's 750th Anniversary

The 14th century Armenian Cathedral in western Ukrainian Lviv was not originally included on the list of objects to be renovated for the city's upcoming 750th anniversary. But, according to gazeta.lviv.ua of 14 July 2006, the city council members have now decided to allocate 278,000 hryvnias (approximately US $ 55,000) for the church's restoration.
