The spiritual center of Galicia, Lviv, became a city in which the theme of the Second Vatican Council was relevant at the Ukrainian Catholic University within three days.

On the occasion of 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Second Vatican Council on May 31 at the Ukrainian Catholic University there was started an international scientific conference "The Second Vatican Council: the gifts of the Spirit - Mystery of the Church - the testimony of man" organized by the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of UCU, the Institute of Religion and Society of UCU and the Saint Clement Pope Institute of UCU (Rome).

On May 16-17 the group of French pilgrims from Marseille visited Lviv. Having arrived to Kyiv, they began visiting holy places of the Ukrainian Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and then they visited the cities of Zhytomyr, Uman, Kamyanets-Podilsky, Khotyn, Pochayiv and Lviv.
