On June 17 and 22, the Institute of Ecumenical Studies held master works’ defense of MPES students. Students of Master's Program in Ecumenical Studies successfully presented to the examination committee their scientific works. The Examination committee was led by Fr. Oleh Kindii, Dr. of patristic theology.

On March 17, 2016 Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University hosted an international scientific conference "The Power of Faith against Abuse of Power: the Greek Catholics of Central and Eastern Europe in terms of persecution of totalitarian regimes after World War II."

Two students of the Master's Program in Ecumenical Studies – Yurii Driomov and Ihor Dovhan received Illia Onopriienko scholarships for one semester due to the academic achievements and active participation in projects of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies.

During March 9-10 at the Master's Program in Ecumenical Studies were held open lectures of Fr. Dr. Iwan Dacko, President of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies at UCU, on the topic: "Work for the unity of Churches from the middle of XIX century to the present day."

On February 22 at the Ukrainian Catholic University a meeting of Expert Council of Ecumenical Social Week took place. Participants discussed the 9th Ecumenical Social Week which is to be held from September 28 to October 1, 2016 in Lviv.

On February 20 took place the opening of the new semester at the annual certificate program "Medical, Psychological and Social Support for People with Special Needs" at the Institute of Ecumenical Studies at UCU. This year to the program enrolled 19 students who will learn how to perform support for people with special needs in the light of a new vision of a person.

Today, on February 16 in the Candlemas Сhapel of the Ukrainian Catholic University new students who came to study at MPES were greeted. Five students were interviewed and passed the entrance exams, and from today begin to acquire a master's degree at the Institute of Ecumenical Studies at the Ukrainian Catholic University.

Fourteen students received certificates of successful completion of the Program "Medical, Psychological and Social Support for People with Special Needs" at the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of UCU. This is the sixth graduation at the Certificate Program.

On January 21, at the Candlemas Chapel of the Ukrainian Catholic University was held an ecumenical prayer for Christian unity and peace in Ukraine. The Institute of Ecumenical Studies has been traditionally inviting representatives of different faiths to pray together during the World Week of Prayers for Christian Unity.
